Abstract

253,887. Coppee et Cie, E. June 22, 1925, [Convention date]. Coke ovens.-In a vertically-flued regenerative coke oven each heating-wall comprises groups of flues connected in series by top and bottom header flues 2, the whole of the air for combustion, and part of the gas, being supplied to one or other of the outermost groups according to the reversal phase, while the remainder of the gas is supplied at intervals along the length of the heating-wall. In the construction shown there are six groups of flues, and the supplementary gas is supplied through pipes 11, 12, 13 delivering into the upper header flues at or near the middles of their lengths. The primary gas is supplied from mains 6, and the draught through the flues is controlled by dampers 14, 15 at their upper ends. The number of flues in the groups may vary from one group to another.
