Abstract
411,870. Coke ovens. DIDIER-KOGAG KOKSOFENBAU UND GASVERWERTUNG AKT.-GES., (formerly KOKSOFEN UND GASVERWERTUNG AKT.-GES.), 1, Am Handelshof, Essen, Germany. Dec. 14, 1932, No. 35473. Convention date, Dec. 15, 1931. Addition to 266,996, [Class 51 (ii)]. [Class 51 (ii).] In an horizontal coke oven having beneath each oven a pair of end to end regenerators 4 each with an horizontal partition 2 so arranged that air is delivered to the sole flues 5 at their outer ends, the end flues 3 or end pairs of flues, of each heating-wall have gas and air supply arrangements independent of those of the remaining flues 3, the air being drawn direct from the atmosphere, e.g. through the dampered duct 14. The air passing through the duct is preheated by conduction from the regenerator. A modification is described (Fig. 5, not shown) in which the duct 14 is in the form of a small regenerator in the outer end wall of the main regenerator.
