Abstract

249,554. Cornelius, C. E. March 23, 1925, [Convention date]. Electrode furnaces.-A furnace particularly for use in the production of glass, water-glass and cement is fitted with metal electrodes A of large heat-accumulating capacity. The electrodes may be of iron practically free from carbon and may be corrugated. The charge is introduced at C and when melted passes through channels E in the electrodes to discharge or working chambers F. The current is supplied by tubes G screwed' into the electrodes and may be regulated by a pyrometer.
