Abstract

245,261. Molins, W. E. Dec. 5, 1924. Rotary-blade type.-A paper web 3 is fed by a pivoted rubber-covered feed roll 5 and a resiliently mounted roll 4 through a guide 10, 11 to a cutting-device, with dead knife 12 and rotary knife 13. The latter is mounted on a shaft 14 together with guides 17, 18 and a lip of flexible material 19. On the guide 10 is a resilient tongued deflector 15. The web 3 and the deflector 15 are pushed aside by the guide 17 and the cut edge of the web is carried forward by the guide 18 until it is stripped by the lip 19 engaging a fixed stripper 20.
