426,583. Feeding webs; sheet-delivery apparatus. JACKSON, T. G., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd., 2, Evelyn Street, Deptford, London. March 2, 1934, Nos. 6713 and 12328. [Class 100 (i)] [See also Group VIII] In web-feeding apparatus, a web 2, e.g. of cellulose material, passes between guide plates 3, 4 and feed rollers 6, 7 projecting therethrough, and is then temporarily corrugated to stiffen it by intercalated portions or fingers 5, which project beyond the plane of the guide plate opposed to that on which the respective fingers are mounted. The central finger 11 may be pivoted and made adjustable by a screw 14 acting against a spring 13. In the construction shown, the web 2 passes from the plates 3, 4 to cutting-apparatus comprising a rotary knife 16 which co-operates with a fixed knife 15 cut away at 170, a deflector 18 which may consist of spring fingers being provided to keep the web from adhering to the knife 15. The severed web passes between guides 19, 21, which may comprise a series of prongs, to a wrapping-machine. Specification 281,772, [Class 31 (i)], is referred to.
