Abstract

432,322. Cutting web material. HALL, C. T., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd., 2, Evelyn Street, Deptford, London. July 25, 1934, No. 21752. [Class 31 (i)] A web fed between rollers 2, 3 is cut into a number of equal lengths by a rotary blade 5 co-operating with a fixed blade 4. The blade 5 is pivoted to an arm 6 on a rotary shaft 7 by a pin 10 and is provided with a cam follower 11 which is held by a spring 16 against a cam 13 fixed to a bracket 15 on the machine frame, the cam 13 being so shaped that the blade 5 moves quicker during the severing operation than during the rest of its rotation.
