Abstract
238,124. Ewart, J. W. Dec. 24, 1924. Interlocking. - In an arrangement for interlocking the gas and water valves of water heaters or geysers, whereby the gas tap cannot be opened before the water valve has been opened and the latter cannot be closed until the gas valve is turned off, the handle g of the gas tap e is provided with an extension having a surface g<1> in a plane at right-angles to the axis of the said tap, so that when the gas tap is open this surface lies in the path of a cranked projection f<1> of the handle f of the water tap d and prevents the closing movement of the water tap. When the taps are both closed, the cranked part f<1> of the handle of the water tap lies in the path of the opening movement of the handle of the gas tap and prevents the latter from being opened until the water tap has been opened.
