Lubricating-cans. - The outer end 14 of the spout 13 of an oil can 10 is of semi-circular shape in cross-section so as to serve for cleaning-out oilholes, and a valve is provided for stopping the supply of oil when an oil-hole is being cleaned, oil flowing through the spout 13 is directed into the base of the part 14 by an oblique flange 21. In one form, the valve comprises a plug cock mounted at the base of the spout. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the spout 13 is rotated to bring ports 16, 20 into or out of register, stops being provided to limit the movement. The port 20 is formed in a member 18 closing the base of the spout and the port 16 is formed in a cap 12 closing the outlet from the can. The spout is retained on the cap 12 by a screwed sleeve 21<1>. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the valve comprises an oblique closure member 26 pivoted to the spout 13 and provided with a thumb plate 27. This valve may be retained in the open position by engaging the plate 27 beneath a catch 28. The member 26 also serves to direct the oil into the part 14.
