Abstract

237,291. Saoutchik, J. July 18, 1924, [Convention date]. Vehicle-window opening and closing apparatus; rattling, preventing.-Window-holding and rattling-preventing devices are combined with the window-operating means described in Specification 222,781. The holding device consists of dogs or members adapted to engage the racks and carried by spring-pressed pivoted levers 11 in housings at each end of the cross-bar C. The dogs are released by cams 8 on a rod 7 operated by the handle 16 before raising or lowering the sash. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the rattling-preventing devices, shown in Figs. 10 (Cancelled), 11 (Cancelled), and 12 (Cancelled), consisting of a mushroom-shaped bead 20 of rubber or the like fixed at the top of the window to engage the sash, a cushioning device 22 also of rubber &c. held in a metal channel 23 to engage the frame and a channel-shaped cushioned frame 26 within which slides the sash. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
