Abstract

236,971. English, W. E. June 23, 1924. Fire and smoke-tube superheaters.-In a steam superheater of the type in which the superheating pipes are situated in superposed fire or smoke tubes, the ends being connected to a header with alternate inlet and outlet chambers, the header is formed with flat upper and lower surfaces. Steam enters at b and flows through the space c and chambers d to the tubes k. The superheated steam passes into the chambers e, space f, and thence to the outlet g. The chambers d, e are arranged alternately as in Fig. 3, and the chambers c - - f have common upper and lower surfaces. The tubes k are secured by bolts i passing through the walls between the chambers d, e. Specifications 17618/13 and 144,381 are referred to.
