197,600. Mills, C. H., English, W. E., and Hannan, J. R. Sept. 4, 1922. Smoke-tube superheaters.-In a header a. divided by a partition d into a saturated steam compartment b and a superheated steam chamber c, the ends of the inlet tubes h, j, k communicate with the compartment b by means of tubes o, p. q which are passed through clearance holes in the outer walls of the header and screwed into the partition d and afterwards separated into the clearance holes to make tight joints. The outlet tubes of the elements are shown at l, m, n. In a modification, the tubes are coupled to the underside of the header, which is turned through 90‹ relatively to the position shown in Fig. 3.
