Superheating by throttling.-In a high pressure water-tube boiler having a distributing and mixing chamber between groups of tubes, the mixture of steam and water is throttled and atomized upon leaving the chamber by passing it through one or more restricted openings. The mixture of steam and water from a group of tubes a collects in a chamber c and passes through small openings e, f, g into a pipe d leading to the next group of tubes b. The total area of the openings is less than the crosssectional area of the pipe d. After passing through several groups of tubes in this manner it is led off through a superheater m.
