Abstract
179,449. Stoll, H. June 4, 1921. Smoke-tube superheaters.-In a smoke-tube superheater the return bend of each element is replaced by two or more heads of the kind described in Specification 152,653. The legs a, e of an element are connected by heads b, d, each oi which is fitted with a helical partition forming flow and return passages. The ends of the legs at their connections with the heads are made of semicircular section to correspond to the section of the passages in the heads. The other passages of the respective heads are connected by a bend c. In modifications, an element has three or four heads so connected together that the steam flows through the passages in each in turn.
