Abstract

263,223. Superheater Co., Ltd., and Robinson, E. A. Sept. 22, 1925. Fire and smoke tube superheaters.-A header comprises a series of alternate saturated and superheated steam compartments 7, 8, arranged below or at one side of and extending transversely of two longitudinal channels 1, 2, for saturated and superheated steam and connected with the respective compartments. Air spaces 14 extend between adjacent compartments, in which are located the superheater element securing bolts 19, their heads being situated between the channels and the compartments. The channels are separated throughout their length by an air space 5 except for connecting webs 6, and an air space 13 separates them from the compartment. Neckings 9, 10 provide a passage from compartments 7, 8 to channels 1, 2 respectively and are of less width than the compartments so as to form seatings for the bolt heads.
