Abstract

328,056. McPhail, M. Jan. 30, 1929. Jointing tubes to headers of steam superheaters &c. In joints in which flanges D on several tubes B are clamped to a header A by a bridgepiece F and a bolt H, both the flanges D and their packing-rings E are located entirely within recesses M. A round-faced washer K is provided between a nut J and the bridgepiece F, and collars I distribute the pressure on the flanges ; the flanges D may be shaped to enter and spread the packing-rings E.
