Chain and like wrenches.-A pipe &c. gripping tongs comprises a lever D and a number of gripping jaws A, B, C hinged together in a closed series, the lever having a hook E engaging a pin F in the last jaw, while a spring J tends to maintain the locking engagment of the lever and jaw when the pressure on the lever is released. The main jaw A may be lightened by a hollow K.
