350,811. Tongs. ADSHEAD, T. W., The Hollies, Queen's Cross, Dudley, Worcestershire. Aug. 21, 1930, No. 24986. [Class 61 (ii).] Coal tongs of the scissor type are provided with gripping-jaws at both ends and a spring located at the pivot normally keeps the jaws apart. The jaws 15, 16, provided with serrated gripping surfaces 18, preferably open wider than the jaws at the opposite end and are closed against the effect of the spring 6, located around the pin 3, by bring- ing together the latter pair of jaws 13, 14. The tongs are kept closed when not in use by a link 19, attached to a lug 20 on one jaw 13, having a hook which engages a hole in a lug on the opposite jaw.
