Abstract

235,937. Grindley, L. A. March 24, 1924. Hair-curling appliances. - Hair-curling tongs adapted to be heated and applied to the hair comprise a pair of spaced members of U-form mounted in handle and arranged for relative movement towards one another against the action of a spring. The tongs comprise two limbs B, Fig. 1, connected at their inner ends to a U- shaped steel spring H and secured in a holder A,. Fig. 3, so as to pivot about a pin D into the closed position shown. The tongs are heated and a strand of hair is placed beween the limbs- The handle is rotated and the hair is wound on the limbs B, which are thus drawn together. The Provisional Specification states that a case may be provided into which the holder A may be inserted with the tongs in either the open or closed position.
