Pivoted-jaw wrenches.-A spanner of the kind having a fixed jaw 1 with a handle extension 3 and an adjustable pivoted jaw 2 is constructed with a spring 5 for maintaining the jaw 2 in its normal open position, the extent of the opening of the jaws being controlled by a link 4 which can be engaged in any one of the notches 1B - - 1E on the fixed jaw, and in one of a similar series of notches on the pivoted jaw.
