Abstract
234,329. Asser, S. Aug. 18, 1924. Valves.-Air is drawn in to the underside of the piston of a two-stroke engine through a port 42, Figs. 3 and 5, ports 47, 52 in concentric oscillating valves 43, 48, port 41, chamber 24, and port 25 during the upstroke, and is transferred to the combustion chamber on the downstroke back through the chamber 24 and the concentric valves, passing through ports 46, 51 in the latter and through cylinder port 38. Fuel is injected through port 62 by a pump 63, Fig. 2, the stroke of which is varied by a wedge 64. Exhaust takes place through port 29 and rotary valve 28, Figs. 3 and 4, which is connected at its open end 31 to the exhaust pipe. Valve gear.-The inner inlet valve 48 is actuated by an eccentric 56, Fig. 2, rod 54, and arm 53, and the outer valve 43 by a. cam-operated rocker 57, link 58, lever 59, rod 61, and an arm on the valve.
