Cylinders receiving liquid fucl.-Liquid fuel is injected into the lower combustion chamber of a double-acting Deisel engine through passages 21. 26 formed in a stuffing-box 14. A plurality of passages may be employed, each passage having an upwardly and outwardly directed spraying nozzle 22, and a separate fuel supply pipe 29. The gland-nut 18 of the stuffing box has packing 19 secured by a nut 20.
