Abstract
222,126. Erste Br³nner Maschinen- Fabriks-Ges. Sept. 20, 1923, [Convention date]. Motor power plant.-The last stages of the low-pressure part of a turbine working in the wet steam region arranged in seperate casings, are separately controlled, and work with small relative motive-fluid velocities in the rotating blade passages and also with small peripheral velocities, the velocities in each case not exceeding 140 metres per second. The last stages may be constructed as disc turbines, preferably with reaction blading. After flowing through high, intermediate, and low pressure sections a, b, c arranged on a shaft driving a generator g, the steam is sub-divided and flows in parallel past stop-valves o into a number of separately housed low-pressure sections d - - k driving a generator g<1>, and running with small velocities, as specified above, so as to avoid the detrimental and inefficient action of wet steam. The wet steam stages d - - - k, any of which may be put out of operation by the valves o, may be mounted on the same shaft as the other stages, or on a shaft geared thereto.
