Axial-flow type; rotors.-In a combined drum and disc wheel turbine the last stages of the turbine are constructed as a disc wheel section d forming a direct continuation of the drum section e. The Figure shows a construction in which the drum and discs together with the shaft a, b are made in one piece. The end a of the shaft may, however, be bolted to the combined rotor which may itself be divided transversely. The shaft may be hollow.
