Abstract

Axial-flow type.-To provide, for standardization in manufacture, certain parts of impulse turbines intended for certain ranges of power output are made the same as far as possible. The drawings show two machines, for example, in which the output of the machine shown in Fig. 2 is intended to be from 2.5 to 5 times that of the machine shown in Fig. 1. The casings 1 and rotor wheels a - - e are indentical in both cases, the difference being effected by appropriate guide nozzles, blading, and packing pieces.
