[Class 110 (iii).] A reaction turbine rotor is built up of discs p, r, u welded together on their outer periphery. An impulse wheel v may be included, and the dummy piston w, and the last wheel u are preferably forged in one piece with the gudgeons x, y. To secure rapid and uniform heating-up on starting, the spaces between the discs may be connected by holes with the steam-space and with one another.
