Abstract

252,702. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. May 27, 1925, [Convention date]. Blades. - The rotor and stator blades of a reaction turbine have an inlet angle of substantially 90‹ and the passage between the blades merges rapidly compared with known blade passages into a short final portion of small cross-sectional area bounded by parallel walls. The fluid passage is such that if the radii of the inscribed circles are marked off on the developed central line a of the passage a straight line d is obtained inclined at an angle of 16‹ to 20‹ slightly concave near the top and with a short parallel portion e about “ the length of the passage. The blade exit angle is 20‹ or less.
