Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize the boundary layer formed over the blade surface, by selecting the inlet angle and the outlet angle of blade respectively within a particular range so that acceleration of fluid is almost completed before the fluid flowing through the passage formed between adjacent two blades reaches the flow deflecting point.
CONSTITUTION: A flow deflecting point in the fluid passage formed between upper surface 10b and lower surface 10a of adjacent two blades 10 is located on a line H drawn from the intersecting point J of extension lines of inlet angle α1 and outlet angle α2 of blade 10 in parallel with the axis of cascade. Here, arrangement is such that the distance of line H representing the flow deflecting point from the trailing edge of blade is greater than 1/2 of the blade width and that width Sp of the fluid passage at the intersecting point P of said line H and curved center line A of the fluid passage is smaller that about 40% of the width t of fluid passage at the leading edge of blade 10. Further, the width Sp of the fluid passage is selected to be about 90W100% of the smallest width S of the fluid passage at the trailing edge of the blade.
