Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an arrangement for impeller of turbo machine, in which top portions of impeller blades located on the side of shroud are shaped to have a sharp edge, so as to minimize leakage of fluid through clearance formed between top portions of blades and shroud. CONSTITUTION:Top end portions of blades 2 located on the side of shroud 3 are shaped to have a sharp edge 2a by cutting off inclined surface 2b extended between the pressure surface and the suction surface on the side of hub. By the function of such a sharp edge 2a fromed at the top end portion of each blade 2, fluid flows through the clearance as shown by arrows of full line in the drawing, which is different from the fluid flow caused in conventional arrangements in which blades have a straight edge, as shwon by arrows of dotted line in the drawing. Therefore, degree of contract vein is enhanced considerably and the sealingness at the top end portions of impeller blades 2 can be improved appreciably.
