Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of a fan, by forming, on a blade rear side slant faces set larger in angle on an inflow side than on a discharge side.
CONSTITUTION: An eddy flows in, as shown by the arrows 21, along the the blade rear side 23 with an inclination angle θ1 at the blade root part as an impeller 13 is rotated. Since the inclination angle θ1 of the blade rear side 23 converges as it approaches the top of the blade, the air which has flowed in between the blades is smoothly changed its course and then discharged from the tip of the blade. Therefore, the vortex which obstructs the promotion of an eddy is not produced, whereby the efficiency of the fan can be considerably improved.
