Rotors.-In a multi-stage disc turbine, the several discs are made, in one piece with the shaft and are formed with plane end surfaces. The discs may be all of one diameter and the shaft of uniform cross-section, or the discs may increase, in diameter towards one end, or the shaft may taper. The over-all length of the group of discs should be at least twice the radial depth of the space between any two rotors.
