Torque and thrust extensions of axle structures.-In motor vehicles having two rear driving axles the additional reducing gear 21, 22 of the parent Specification between the propeller shaft 3 and the shaft 23 driving the two axles is arranged as a two-speed gear, so as to give speeds in addition to those provided by the main speedgear (not shown). The double pinion 21, 21<1> slides on its shaft so as to engage either of the gear wheels 22, 22<1> on the shaft 23. Also, the axle casings 20, 28 are connected together by a casing having two sleeves 31, 32 which can rotate on each other and are pivoted at 33, 34 to the respective axle casings, thus forming a universal connection.
