Abstract

282,062. Mistral, P. H. Dec. 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Driving four wheels almost in line, two being driven through differential gear. - A vehicle axle frame is provided with four driving wheels', the two outer wheels 8 being driven through a differential gear and the two central wheels 9 being fixed to the differential driving casing 4 and therefore to each other. The outer wheels are driven through universallyjointed shafts. On ordinary ground the vehicle runs on the outer wheels only; should these wheels skid the driver lowers the wheels 9 as shown until they take the drive.
