277,981. Zavody Tatra akc., spol. pro Stavbu Automobilu a Zeleznicnich Vozu, (formerly Koprivnicka, Vozovka akc. spol.). Sept. 24, 1926. Frame constructions.-Driving gear for motor vehicles having two or more driving axles comprises a continuous jointless shaft 8 driving the wheels 3, 5 at one side of the vehicle and a separate similar shaft 9 driving the wheels 4, 6 at the other side of the vehicle. A differential gear 10 is provided between the change-speed gear and the shafts 8, 9, and the half-axles are driven from the shafts 8, 9 through bevel gear trains 15, 16 respectively. In the construction shown the rear half-axle casings 7 swivel about a central frame member 1, but it is stated that the invention may be applied to vehicles having ordinary frames and fixed axles.
