Abstract
214,593. Siemens - Schuckertwerke Ges. April 18, 1923, [Convention date]. Compound and composite boilers. - Old lowpressure boilers are used, when new high-pressure boilers are installed, for heating the feedsupply to the new boilers and the old superheaters are used to superheat low-pressure steam. A pump 5 forces hot water from a low-pressure boiler 6 into a high-pressure boiler 2 supplying superheated steam to a high-pressure turbine 11. Exhaust from the turbine is taken through the superheater 7 of the low-pressure boiler and used for driving a low-pressure turbine 15. The furnace gases are directed through the superheater 7 before thev enter the boiler 6. Steam may be taken from the low-pressure boilers for supplying auxiliary engines.
