Abstract
210,861. English Electric Co., Ltd., and K÷nig, M. Nov. 7, 1922. Drawings to Specification. Engines working on special systems or cycles. -Steam at a pressure of 750 lbs. per square inch and over is expanded in a specially constructed high pressure stage to a pressure between 5 per cent and 10 per cent of the initial pressure, is then superheated up to the initial temperature and is passel to a low-pressure stage of normal construction. The interstage superheating may be effected by passing the steam through pipes contained in the high-pressure generator. The shaft of the high-pressure-stage engine may be connected to that of the low-pressure stage, and the latter shaft to the shaft of a dynamo by reduction gearing.
