Regulating. - A multi-stage turbine working normally with high-pressure steam has one or more of its low-pressure stages transferred to the position of the high-pressure stages when the turbine works with low-pressure steam. Fig. 1 shows the arrangement of the stages 1 - - 7 for high-pressure working, while Fig. 2 shows the stages 1, 2, 3 replaced by the low-pressure stages 4, 5. 6 for low-pressure working, a nozzle-box b designed to give the same output replacing the nozzle-box d. For overloads an inlet passage e is provided together with a stop-valve.
