Abstract
211,870. Delolme, C. Feb. 21, 1923, [Convention date]. Catches, automatic; fastenings for sliding doors.-A bar 10 normally forced towards the left, Fig. 1, by a spring 16 is slidably mounted on the inside of a sliding well door 1 and is connected by a pivot 12 to a latch 11 pivotally mounted on the door. The nose 14 of the latch engages a, catch 15 on the door frame when the door is closed. When the door is open a projection 22 on the bar 10 is engaged by a cam 21, Fig. 5, carried by horizontal rods slidably mounted on the cage 18. When the lift is stationary the cam 21 can be withdrawn from engagement with the projection 22 against the resistance of springs by a. handle 17 and the door is then closed by a weight 5. As the cam is removed from the projection when the cage moves up or down, it is not then necessary to retract the cam in order to close the well door.
