Abstract

Suction pipes; waste liquid, returning. - The suction pipe D of a pump is mounted in a device comprising upper and lower bosses B, C connected respectively to the pump and to the drum &c. from which the liquid is to be pumped. A number of air holes E are formed in the wall of the lower boss and open at the lower end into the drum and at the upper end into a chamber F open to the atmosphere. A drip tray H may be mounted on the upper boss by means of a collar H<2>, the waste liquid returning to the drum through the parts G and the passages E. In another form, the chamber F is formed between the collar H<2> and the upper boss.
