460,577. Washing machines. FETERKA, C. July 29, 1935, No. 21479. [Class 138 (ii)] Air is delivered under pressure through perforations in a spiral pipe e<1> arranged near or in a recess in the bottom of the washing receptacle a. The pipe communicates with a fan d and electric motor supported by the casing b, and the vertical portion of the pipe may be arranged in a vertical recess in the receptacle. Excess foam caused by the air is withdrawn through a trap e<3>, Fig. 5. In a modification, the air is delivered through vertical pipes formed in the wall of the receptacle. The discharge pipe may be of uniform cross-section with the perforations increasing in size, or it may taper towards its inner end with perforations of uniform size. The perforations towards the inner end may be closer together than at the other end.
