Abstract

470,919. Step-irons. WATSHAM, D. S. Feb. 24, 1936, No. 5481. [Class 20 (ii)] A step - iron for walls has the step portion downwardly inclined from the edges toward the centre. The iron is provided with one or two supporting prongs E each having an end tooth E<1> to engage a recess in the wall and a downwardly extending portion G to bear against the wall surface. The step portion C may be either of V or curved shape, and is ribbed and provided with a stiffening rib C<1>. The iron may take the form of a bracket, Fig. 3, with a stay M having a part O to enter a recess in the wall. In a further modification, Fig. 6, the step portion may be divided into three portions A, B, C, the centre portion being provided with an inclined stay R provided with a ribbed extension T to enter a recess in the wall.
