Abstract
362,775. Rotary pumps. WERNERT, K., 2A, Weissenburgerstrasse, l4Tiilheim, Ruhr, Germany.. Feb. 21, 1931, No. 5509. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1930. Addition to 362621. [Class 102 (i).] In a combined set of rotary pump and driving motor for submerged working as described in the parent Specification, an air compressor 7 is arranged between the pump 1 and the motor 2 in order to supply air to the bell 3 when necessary. The liquid to be raised passes upwards between the cylindrical walls 3, 5, and the space inside the wall 3 communicates with the well through the ports 10. The suction conduit 8 of the compressor 7 communicates with the outer air, while the tube 9 is inside the bell 3. If for any reason the liquid rises in the bell it also rises in the tube 9 and brings the compressor into operation, sc that air is forced into the bell to lower the surface of the liquid. A check valve 11 may be fitted at any convenient point on the suction conduit 11 to prevent air from escaping from the bell 3.
