Abstract
280,779. Marks, E. C. R., (Jennings, I. C.). March 23, 1927. Pumping-machines and apparatus. - In a wet vacuum pumping apparatus the liquid and gas pump D, C are secured to the side of the tank B and the driving motor M is also supported by the tank. The pumps are mounted on a common shaft E and are arranged in housings with passages communicating with the tank. A circular shoulder on the tank wall receives the flange 12 on the bracket 11 which carries a circular flange 14 supporting the motor. The pumps and the motor can thus be secured as a unit to the tank. The base A which supports the tank is formed as a drip pan 15 whith au outlet 16. A shaft 18 passes through a stuffing box 19 in the tank and through a lug 17 on the inside. It carries a yoke 20 to which is attached an arm 22 and float 23 operated by the water of condensation. The outer end of the shaft is provided with an arm carrying a yoke 25 sliding between nuts on a shaft 26 which controls the motor switch. Specification 192,365 is referred to.
