Centrifugal ejector and Sprengel pumps.-The vapour of the water or other refrigerating fluid used is withdrawn from the evaporator A by a centrifugal annular ejector B having water as the inducing-liquid, and the mixed steam of inducing- liquid and vapour is discharged either into a reservoir F, Fig. 1, or into a condenser-separator R, Fig. 2. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1 air and vapour are withdrawn from the reservoir F and the whole system by a vacuum pump G. The inducing-liquid returns to the ejector by a pipe D, while the cooled refrigerant liquid withdrawn from the evaporator A and circulated through any desired circuit by a pump A<2> returns by way of a tubular device H in the reservoir F and a pipe A<1> to the top of the evaporator.
