Abstract

193,083. Le Dantec, L. M. Oct. 8, 1921. Regulating; reversing; circular-flow type.-In a turbine of the type comprising a rotor fitted with annular discs 2 which form a number of chambers to which the steam passes in succession through passages 13 in the turbine casing and in which steam inlets 6, 6<1> controlled by valves 7, 7<1> are arranged at each end of the casing at opposite sides for forward or reverse rotation, the chambers and passages 13 are fcrmed with constant cross section and also additional steam inlets 6, 6<1> are provided on each side of the casing communicating with intermediate chambers. The discs 2 run in grooves in the casing. Preferably one or two blades 5 only are provided in each chamber and they are staggered in the different chambers. The pass. ages 13 are of about the same section as the rotor chambers.
