Sights and methods of sighting.-Relates tc sights for anti-aircraft guns in which the range-reading device is automatically adjusted to correspond with the angle of site of the target during the laying of the sight-line on the target, and consists in mounting the sight, the range-reading device, and a mark adjusted in accordance with the range upon a carrier adjustable on the axis of the gun trunnions independently of the gun. In the form shown, the carrier E, supporting the sight G, G', the range-reading device J, p<2>, and the adjustable mark k<2> is rotated on the trunnion b<1> independently of the gun by a pinion H and elevating are e<4>. When the target is sighted the angle through which the drum J has been rotated, by a pinion i<2> running over a fixed rack c<2>, corresponds to the angle of site of the target. The reader p<2> is then traversed along the drum by rotating a screw m<3> through a hand-wheel m<2> until the curve i<3> which correspends to the range is reached, the arc K carrying the mark K<2> being simultaneously moved through a worm-gear m<1>, N and a pinion N'. The gun is then given the proper elevation with respect to the line of sight by moving the gun through a pinion D until the mark a<2> on the gun coincides with the mark k <2>.
