Abstract
11,625. Wray, G. May 11. Valve-gear; regulating.-The pivots K for the valve levers are carried by a plate L attached to the wall of the crank chamber. This plate may be fixed, or adjustable about the cam shaft M for varying the timing. The cam B has two pairs of opposite bosses C, D, for inlet and exhaust, and is rotated at one-fourth the speed of the crank-shaft by a pinion A on the shaft engaging internal teeth on the cam. The plate L may embrace the crank-shaft bearing in order to ensure correct replacement. The invention is applicable to single or twin cylinder engines.
