Abstract

125,360. Renault, L. April 8, 1918, [Convention date]. Regulating; valve-gear.-The cam-shaft 12, and a shaft 11 carrying the valve-levers are arranged overhead in the plane containing the cylinder axes. In order to control a pair of inlet valves 1, 2, and a pair of exhaust valves 3, 4, one inlet cam acting on a forked valve.lever is arranged between two exhaust cams each acting on a single lever, or, as shown in Fig. 3, a single cam works the four valves by means of two forked levers 16, 17. The bearings 20, Fig. 5, for the shaft carrying the valve-levers are mounted in brackets 21 rigid with the cam-shaft bearing, and the position of the shaft 11 is adjusted by packing inserted at 19.
