Abstract

1,268,503. I.C. engine valve gear. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. April 10, 1969 [April 20, 1968], No.18468/69. Heading F1B. In an overhead cam-shaft I. C. engine with two valves per cylinder actuated by rockers 11 and 12 mounted on a common shaft 13, the cam-shaft 14 is disposed between the valves and the rocker shaft, and the valves are spaced at different distances from the rocker shaft. The cam 16 operating the closer valve is displaced from the perpendicular to the rocker shaft through the valve axis so as to clear the valve spring (6), Fig. 1 (not shown), and a recess may be provided in the cam-shaft 14 in the region of the valve spring. The rocker actuating the closer valve may have one arm offset longitudinally of the rocker axis from the other arm at the position mounted on the rocker shaft.
