Abstract

29,517. Schuster, N. Dec. 22. Coke ovens.-Air is supplied to the heating- chambers by two pairs of regenerator tunnels 2, 3, and 4, 5. Each tunnel is divided by partitions 6, 7, Fig. 2, into half as many chambers as there are chambers 8, and each of these regenerator chambers is connected by a passage 16 or 17 to a passage 14 through which it supplies air to, or receives waste gases from, the heating-flues 9 in one half of one heating- chamber 8. The regenerator chambers of each tunnel of each pair are connected to alternate heating-chambers. The flues 19, 20, to which the regenerator chambers are connected by passages 18, 18<Î>, are alternately connected to the atmosphere and to the uptake, gas being supplied through passages 10 alternately to one half of the heating-flues 8.
