Abstract

18,192. Ostwalt, P. Aug. 8, 1908, [Convention date]. Locking - apparatus.-Apparatus for locking cycles comprises two pivoted spring- controlled jaws 5, 6 adapted to receive the cycle wheel and to be locked by a hook lever 18 mounted in a casing 8 secured to the jaw 6. The lever 18 is under the control of and is operable by a spring-controlled disk 12, a slot in which engages a pin 17 on the lever. The disk is actuated by a key 10, which is adapted to engage teeth 14 on the disk. When the device is not in use, the lever is retained in its inoperative position, and the key is retained in the lock by means of a pivoted plate 20, the pin 23 on which under the action of a spring 22 engages a shoulder 24 on the disk 12. When the wheel is inserted, the plate 20 is pressed back to release the disk and free the key and lever.
